Sparkle Plenty

I’ve owned Sparkle Plenty since 2001. She is a 1980 Mariner 36 sloop built in New Hampshire. She is a sturdy blue water vessel of 17,000 pounds. Over the years I have updated all of her systems. Her auxiliary power is a Universal 5444 diesel (a marinized Kubota). She has a newish set of Quantum cruising sails, a Lofrans power windlass, B&G 12 inch Zeus chart plotter, Garmin Wind, Standard Horizon Speed, 3 depth finders, B&G rudder steered autopilot, Marinaire air-conditioning, Simrad VHF with GPS, German water heater, Frigoboat keel-cooler icebox, and many other liveaboard nicities.

SP has transported me up and down the Atlantic Coast Intracoastal Waterway several times. Currently she shares berths between the Fort Pierce Town Marina during hurricane season (June – Nov) and for the Florida winter-spring season (Dec – May)at my condo marina on South Hutchinson Island, a barrier island along Florida’s southeast Treasure Coast.
